Who we are

Waves Costa Rica was started by a group of professional Costa Rican Surfers, looking for a way to pass on their love of surfing to others. Amidst the mists of one of Costa Rica's epic March swells, Andrea Diaz, Gilbert Brown, and Nino Myrie, dropped into the fantastic idea of starting a surf camp. With all three having been Costa Rican surf champions, the alliance promised to provide one of the most professional surf schools in Costa Rica. With the sole intention of ensuring that every student and surfer left the Costa Rica surf feeling like they had found a home away from home, the three founded "Waves Costa Rica".

Andrea, Gilbert, and Nino, dubbed "The Costa Rican Surfing All-Stars" quickly caught the eyes of Roxy & Quiksilver, and became Latin America's first Roxy & Quiksilver Surf Camp. With a perfect blend of theory, waves, hard work, and, of course surfing, the Costa Rican surf camp became a huge success, paving the way for dozens of other Roxy & Quiksilver Surf Camps across Latin America.

Now, as Costa Rica's premier Roxy & Quiksilver surf camp, the surf school has taught thousands of surf lessons, and touched just as many lives. With the inclusion of a social responsibility program, Waves Costa Rica now touches the lives of just as many athletes of the Special Olympics, impoverished children, and marine fauna as they do visitors coming to enjoy Costa Rica Surf.
