Ollie's Point Surfing

Ollie's point has always been the red-headed stepchild of Costa Rica's surfing breaks, as it always seems to be left in the shadow of Witch's Rock. Also known as Portrero Grande, Ollie's Point surfing is a good complimentary thing to do on your boat trip to Witch's Rock since the break is only accessible by boat and the wave works well at mid- to low tide.

Ollie's Point surfing produces a very fast and hollow wave, the same right point waves that were featured in the film "Endless Summer II" starring Robert August and Wingnut.

Local trivia: the spot is named alter U.S. Military General Oliver North, since Ollie's Point is close to the area used to smuggle weapons to the Sandanistas in Nicaragua in the '80s.
