Playa Grande Surfing

Playa Grande is the name of the entire beach located to the north of the Tamarindo Estuary. The main break can be reached in a 25 minute drive or a 30-minute walk across the estuary and north along the beach. The principle Playa Grande Surfing break produces an A-frame wave that tubes regularly in chest to head-high surf. The rest of the beach provides peaky but fun beach breaks.

Playa Grande starts breaking best 3 hours before high tide and a couple hours after.
